Our Story.

Meet Garrett & Maggie Jackson, Founders and Owners of Big Hart Farm.

While the Big Hart Farm property has its own stories to tell (and we are anxious to tell them!), the Jackson family roots run deep in local history. In fact, the ancestors of Big Hart Farm’s Garrett Jackson precede that of the now infamous Lake Hartwell.

Hart County has long been home to the Jackson family, as Garrett was born and raised here. In 2013 Garret and Maggie met, and Maggie’s love, not only for Garrett, but for our beautiful town began.

Maggie and Garrett have spent countless summers in the Hartwell area, exploring, hiking, boating, and enjoying all our beautiful community has to offer. It was during 2020 that Maggie’s world changed. Pregnant with her daughter, Hartwell offered a safe haven amidst the chaos of the pandemic world. The community she had fallen in love with never felt more like home. She recalls enjoying countless hours in the great outdoors, memories she will cherish for a lifetime.

In 2022 Maggie and Garrett put down their own roots in Hart County, right here at Big Hart Farm. A horse girl by trade, Maggie fell deeply in love with the property for all it offered then and all that was to come.

Garrett’s professional experience in Golf Course Management would bring exceptional skill to the task that lay before them: creating not just a flower farm, but a sanctuary of family, friendship and a love of agriculture for the community.

Today you will likely find Garrett and Maggie at the farm planning, planting and pruning for the seasons ahead. Meanwhile, the barefoot child dancing, singing, and helping right alongside in the great outdoors is Charlie, the real boss of Big Hart Farm.

We proudly invite you and your family to come and enjoy what our family holds dear. Join us this season at Big Hart Farm. We hope you fall in love too!
